Truth lifts the heart,
like water refreshes thirst.

Helping You to Change Your Life
I help clients move forward with an approach that is warm, down-to-earth and gently challenging. Sharing your struggles with a stranger isn't easy, but I will meet you and support you with compassion and the solid conviction that we can collaborate to make your life better.
I have a deep respect for clients and their values, purposes, hopes and resources. As a licensed psychologist and certified narrative therapist, I will emphasize these strengths in order to separate you from your problems and empower you to stand up to them.
I believe that change is always possible, even in the most difficult and overwhelming situations. Drawing upon your expertise about your life, we can grow your personal story so you view yourself and your circumstances in new ways that fortify you as you take practical steps toward living a more fulfilling life.
Support as You Deal With Loss
You may be struggling with heartbreaking loss. If so, I will support you as you grieve, helping you find meaning in your loss and integrate it into your life. I won’t push you to “let go” of your loved one. Instead, I will help you find ways of remembering and carrying what was special about your relationship into your future so you can move forward with hope and confidence, enriched and strengthened by that relationship.

My Training and Qualifications
My work with clients is based on three elements: training, experience and who I am as a person. Extensive training, often with experts in the field, has given me a broad knowledge base which enables me to draw from many different counseling techniques to best meet the needs of each client. Twentythree years as a licensed psychologist working with all sorts of people and issues means that I have practically seen it all! However, clients have often told me that what has been most helpful to them is who I am as a person, rather than any training I have received. I try to live life with kindness and integrity and have managed to gain some insight from my own life experiences. Combining my professional expertise and my compassion, I have helped many people – even those who were very reluctant to talk with a therapist.
How Can I Help?
I encourage anyone who is considering therapy to recognize it as healthy, brave and potentially life-changing. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about what you’re seeking and whether I’m a good match for you. I provide free phone consultations and referrals when needed.
